Constructing an image in media

Nowadays, social media development is prosperity, many people can go through these media to express themselves, communicate with other. At the same time they can build up their own personal image.

In Hong Kong, there are many artists and youtubers built their personal image through different social media. For instance, famous youtuber hana Tam. In the beginning she always upload her travel, make up videos to YouTube or image to Instagram, the content of these videos most of them are sharing the fun and delicious food and her daily life. When she became more famous, her sharing got a new style, always post some daily look book and tag all the sponsors, all the followers can know how to buy her clothes, she will have income by those sharing post. Then she open a gym room with her gym coach, she always share photos in the fitness room to Instagram, and tag it.

So many blogger, youtuber did the same things as her did, when they are not very famous, they pay hard to operating their social media, as they increasingly high popularity, favored by the sponsors, they start to post some advertisements for the sponsors. Nevertheless, many people will continue to follow them.(209words)

  1. Dear Audrey, The idea of personal presentation on social media is fine. Please try to focus on how identity can be culturally constructed in the writing, and in the forthcoming ethnographic essay. In this writing, you should emphasise that personal identity is a kind of performance.
