media image detached from the external world

To a large extent that media images detached from the external world, such as the news happened from the past few months, it is about a question of offer the seat to the needed. Especially Ming Pao have give a news about the journalist went to take MTR in purpose and seeing a young man not offer the seat to the woman who is carrying her baby. As before already a lot of people post in Facebook or forums that some young people sitting on the priority seat or not giving a seat to the needed people. After this event and before those photos in Facebook, many people start to argue why the journalist need to do this kind of thing as Ming Pao is a media organization and why we are not having a right to sit? It show that the media have created an image that we must give out a seat to the people that the society think is in need and many people start not sitting in the priority seat afraid capture by the others. The media become a judger to judge the things is right or wrong and easily will let the youngers think we just can stand because we are young without any right of siting.

The relationship between media images and external reality is “ ideal and the real”. The media usually pack the things so pretty and using a overstate method to make the people think that it is perfect but the real is usually let us feed disappoint and it is hard to let us accept. Another example, the advertisements usually post out slim is beauty and show just eating this kind of medicine you can slim so fast, however the truth usually is bloodiness, the way get yourself more thin the way is doing more exercises and eat healthy not just the medicine. These kinds of media usually let us have a ideal mind we have a shortcut the make the things perfect but the real is the world don’t have any shortcut, you should walk every step by yourself.  (350 words)

  2. Dear Jodi, The reason provided for explaining media representation is insightful. The examples are appropriate but the first one's linkage to "external reality" needs further explanation. Nice work! Keep it up!
