Mobile technologies blur the boundary of private and public space

In our live, the mobile technologies are very universal. Every people will use that, such as mobile phone, iPad or something mobile technology products. But when we use that, it will blur the boundary of private and public space. So some people said that the mobile technologies blur the boundary of private and public space.

I think mobile technologies have this problem is because it have embedded web browser or online application, people always use that to handle their personal information or upload Facebook, originally need do it at home or their private space. But when mobile technologies become widespread, they finish that in any time and place.

It means if people more easily to use the internet, they will not care use mobile technologies in public space, even they do some personal thing.

For example, your boss can phone at any time disturb your personal life. Addition a lot of people will use mobile phones in public spaces have a private conversation, then other people will be forced to hear their private affairs in public space. And sometime the other people can watch your WhatsApp’s conversation or Important Account’s password with your mobile technologies.

If let me comment this effect is good or bad to people's everyday life, I think it must bad to people's life, because this will affect the people don't consider the proper time use of mobile technologies.

  1. Dear Yuhin, What you discuss here would be good examples illustrating uses and gratifications theory too though it is missing here. In addition, it is more about how personal life is disturbed by messages of media rather than a blurring of boundaries, which would be related who the public space and private space are mixed by the use of technology.
