Look at the impact

The rapid development of technology becomes an icon of this century, it brought tons of impact to the whole world, especially for the mobile technology, as known as “smartphone”. While smartphone is integrated with most of the daily needs, provided a convenient platform for people to do everything on a single device.

The provided convenience allows people to handle their personal affairs on their mobile phone including communicating, entertaining, socializing etc.. Meanwhile, the convenience also allows people to enjoy anywhere and anytime, which blurred the boundary of private and public space to a large extend. As nowadays more and more public space for example, government buildings and shopping mall in Hong Kong providing wifi service for people connect their mobile device to the network for doing private affairs in public space. And wifi service became one of the concern that people to consider whether going that place or not for affairs other then those on their mobile like shopping, meeting and eating.

As I mentioned above, mobile technology blurred the boundary of private and public space to a large extend. The advantages of mobile technology is that it provided convenience to people, but oppositely, the disadvantage is that people getting addicted to mobile as it is too convenient for them to deal with private affairs, which caused the symptoms of “Phubbing”, as a result people are only focusing on their mobile anywhere and anytime, neglecting the environment, their friends and family, that may harm themselves and the others. (248 words)

  1. Dear Ka Tsun, The discussion is fine here. You may want to make it clearer when you say technology blurs the boundary of private space and public space. Your writing places stronger emphasis on about how people are 'addicted' to mobile rather than an explicit explanation of blurring boundaries of personal/private sphere, which is mentioned in one or two sentences.
