The images detached from the external world

Nowadays, technologies is everywhere.  It becomes fully integrated in our daily life.  Also, most of the media present in a image format.  For example, advertisements and photos.  However, we can noticed that some of the images are detached from the external world.  The images may not same as the real world and it may has a big difference between images and external world.

Many people will attract by those printed and online advertisement, they are willing to buy and enjoy the services and products. However, the product may not fulfill and satisfy their expectations as those products are in bad quality.

Let's take Café de Coral as an example.  The photos that show on their menu and advertisement are beautiful and good quality.  Customers are interested to try their new products and food after watching their advertisements.  However, when they go to Café de Coral to have the same meal, the real one and the image are not the same.  It has a big difference between the real and the image.  The images in the advertisement just show the best and well prepared products.  The food put in a order way tidily.  But when people order the same meal, the chicken leg becomes smaller and untidy, it lowers the expectation of the customers.

In conclusion, I think that most of the images in the external world are not trustful as those images may have some changes and just show their best way to customers, but not the real one in the real life.  Images act like  the information for customers.  However, in the external world, images may disappear and the customers just see the fact.  They will lower their confident in trusting the images that post everywhere.

  1. Dear Stephanie, The example used is appropriate for the topic. The last remark is nice. "Misrepresentation" of products can backfire. Reference to terms like representation is suggested so that your understanding of the issue can be assessed.
