Social Media is the trend from web 2.0. In web
2.0, this would be a website that
doesn't just give you information, but interacts with you while giving you that
information and it move toward a more social, collaborative, interactive and
responsive web. No doubt, the most favorite social
media could be Facebook, Instagram and twitter.
I
am one of the social media users, I have used Facebook since 2008, and now I also
use Instagram to present my daily life though some image and video
I enjoy
sharing my life experience to my friend through the social media but I do not
think social media can perfectly to help people understand each other better. Everyone
on Facebook looks like having a unique life and seem awesome. It may make you
feel insufficient; however there are someone wants to be recognition by other
and created a fake life on Facebook. Sometime they only show the awesome part
in the photo to make other feel inadequate. That’s why we need to focus on our
present reality and do not dependent on social media to understand your friend.

Dear Nathan, Thanks for sharing your personal experience of using social media. While it is interesting, you can also make use of back space and front space or other relevant theoretical concepts when you reflect on your experience. This is particularly important when you write up the first short essay for your portfolio. In fact, your writing has already shown traces of the ideas. You can try to apply them with confidence.
